Aizawl: Joint Village Council (Sairang, Sairang Dinthar and Sihmui) allegedly accused Mizoram Rural Bank Sairang Branch workers of creating trouble for its customers on Monday in a press statement.
According to the statement, in recent years the locals were able to withdraw money in times of emergency with the Village Council’s acknowledgement letter.
However, many customers were recently facing problems while withdrawing cash from their bank account in MRB. The statement further accused MRB cashier for creating troubles for the customers and stated that even in health emergency the cashier did not let the customers withdrew what is theirs. Instead create a problem for the customers, the statement added.
The statement further quotes MRB Cashier Lalremruata of asking some customers to bring the person who is unwell into the bank to withdraw the money.
The official statement by Joint VC also allegedly accused the workers of ling to its customers about their bank account status.
The statement stated that after every work done under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MGNREGS) the money was transferred into every individual worker’s account.
The official statement stated that the workers at MRB sometimes send these folks home empty-handed telling them that their money is not transferred into their bank account yet.
Meanwhile the statement also highlighted the problems face by MRB and stated that there are thousands of bank account holders in Sairang MRB while there is only cashier in the branch.
