According to an official, at least 10 trucks carrying cement have returned without un-loading cement in Aizawl on Saturday.
The initiatives taken by Mizo Students Union (MSU) any trucks which carries cement that cost more than Rs 360/- were stopped at Ch. Saprawnga Truck terminal, Rangvamual.
During the time of news was written, twenty-five trucks were on hold and were not allowed to unload by MSU.
An official said that comparing to other parts of the country the price of cement is too costly in Mizoram.
The official also said that MSU has been asking the cement company not to sell more than Rs 360/- per bag.
A meeting for the discussion of cement price between cement companies and MSU officials will also be held on Tuesday, the official added.
According to the official sources there are eight cement companies in Mizoram out of which Star Cement is the only company that offered to sell as per the request of the MSU officials.
