Mizo Students Union Regional Headquarters Lunglei asked the government to take steps in demolishing villages set up by Chakmas illegally at Lunglei district on Monday.
Speaking to the press, MSU Lunglei Sub Headquarters President Biaksiamtluanga said – as the organization is for the students, most of the project that MSU carry out were also meant for the Mizo students.
He said that an initiative has been taken before in this illegal village camps set up by the Chakma in western area of the district but there is nothing much we can do as a students organization.
He further said that there is a limitation to what we can do.
He also stated that there are a lot of villages set up illegally in the western side of the district.
He also highlighted the recent project carried out by MSU General Headquarters Aizawl on the price of cement in Mizoram and that Lunglei regional headquarters supports the act.
He stated that the companies should agree to the MSU price proposal to avoid any unwanted protest or violence.
During an interaction with the press, Biaksiamtluanga highlighted the tragedy of three students in Guwahati and appreciated the government and Aizawl Joint NGO Co-ordination Committee in their efforts to investigate the incident.
