Parliamentary Secretary H. Zothangliana visited the site of a disaster caused by monsoon flash floods in Lawngtlai town on Saturday.
Zothangliana visited the site of houses that were destroyed in landslide at Lawngtlai Electric Locality cemetery.
The landslide at the cemetery alters at least 13 houses, out of which one is destroyed and is proclaim unlivable by the locals.
An official also said that the house owner of the destroyed house have shifted to a safer place.
He also visited the site of land sinking at national highway 54 in Lawngtlai – III which forced at least eight families to stay out of their houses.
Parliamentary Secretary for Higher and Technical Education also visited the landslide in Lawngtlai-III cemetery.
According to an official, at least nine graves were shifted because of landslide.
He further visited different sites such as Baptist Church of Mizoram at Kanaan locality, middle school and Young Lai Association Hall which were affected due to a slide movement of soil at Lawngtlai AOC locality.
Meanwhile, speaking to the victims and local leaders at the sites, Zothangliana console the victims and further encourages the locals to do what they can as of now.
He also said that the government will take initiatives but it is difficult to carry out as one will to.
There are processes to go through, he added.
Zothangliana also hand out silpauline to the local leaders to be distributed to the locals in need.
