According to Lal Thanhawla, baseline survey was conducted at all villages through YMA who later submitted the list to concerned DC and to the NLUP Implementing Board (NIB) after verification from the DC.
“I am scare the CAG would defile its reputation if it keeps on giving baseless report like this,” he said.
He said that NLUP was one of the most successful programme that has ever been implemented in Mizoram and added that many families have benefitted from the flagship programme.
Taking cognizance of its necessity as many families are in need of help, the governments has decided to continue with NLUP project and to supplement this, the government has evolved another programme called New Economic Development Policy (NEDP), he said.
“Many projects like Turial Hydel Project, Sairang to Bairabi railway project and Kaladan Multi Modal Transport Transit Project could not be completed in time due to illegitimate compensation claim,” he said.
Lal Thanhawla also expressed happiness for the inauguration of Serchhip auditorium which is considered to be the best auditorium in the state.

He also asked Serchhip people to make most use of the auditorium and give tender care with a sense of ownership.
The construction of Serchhip Auditorium was sanctioned in 2009. But the contract work was stopped after sometime due to sub-standard of the building and was renewed in 2014. Rs 2126.01 lakh was sanctioned under Ministry of Urban Development for the construction of the auditorium.
The building has three-storey with VIP Lounge, Office Room, Refreshment Room, Exhibition Hall, two Meeting Halls, and the main Auditorium with a capacity of 1000.
